The Patriot Guard attended Funeral Service for U.S. Army SPC Thomas Moffitt on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Central Community Church, Wichita, KS. SPC Moffitt, 21, died October 24 in Paktika Province, Afghanistan from injuries sustained from small arms & rocket-propelled grenade fire. He was assigned to the D Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. His unit is known as the “Screaming Eagles.” He served as a gunner on a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle. SPC Moffitt enlisted in the Army after graduating high school. He served a tour of duty in South Korea prior deployment to Afghanistan. SPC Moffitt was a courageous soldier whose sacrifice will never be forgotten. The Patriot Guard extends our sincere condolences to SPC Moffitt’s Family, Friends, and Fellow Soldiers.
